Studio notes

A desk that makes room for you.

Less visual noise, more room to think. Bring a little order and personality to the place where your day unfolds.

A useful desk does not need to look empty. It needs to make the things you use easy to find and leave enough space for the work in front of you. A little structure can do more than another drawer full of supplies.

Sort by use, not by how it looks

Gather the things on your desk and separate what you use each day from what only appears occasionally. Pens, a notebook and a charging cable might belong within reach; spare supplies can usually live somewhere else.

Give the daily items a clear home. A shallow tray is useful for loose pieces, while upright storage can make pens and small tools easier to see.

Protect a clear working area

Keep a part of the desk free for the task that needs the most room. That might be your keyboard, an open sketchbook or a place to lay out materials.

Before adding an organiser, check its dimensions against the desk. The right piece should help free up the surface rather than take over the area you wanted to use.

Add one personal detail

A small photograph, a nameplate or an object with a story can make a practical space feel less anonymous. Choose something that makes you smile without getting in the way of the work.

At the end of the day, return the essentials to their places. A desk that is easy to reset is usually more useful than one that only looks tidy in a photograph.

Keep daily essentials close, occasional items elsewhere, and one small thing that makes the space feel yours.

A little idea to take with you

Stay a little longer.
